After entering New Mexico, we were able to experience a little bit of everything this state has to offer. We stopped at the Carlsbad Caverns, White Sands National Park, Las Cruces, and the Riverbend Hot Springs, which lies on the Rio Grande River.
We even picked up our first hitchhiker.
We decided to head to Silver City after the Hot Springs. Route 152 was a beautiful drive, but to our surprise we started driving through the winding roads of the Gila National Forest. We went from sunny and 60 degrees to snow-capped mountains. Scarlet started to overheat so we decided to pull over. When we got out we looked to our right and there was a bunch of garbage all in the woods. We put on our gloves and got to work!
Hoping this karma would get us back down the 8,228 feet, we took off slowly down the mountains. We had to stop every 10 minutes for a 30 minute break but we finally made it. We even caught the almost full moon!
Sometimes nature sends us signs she needs a little love, too. We are always thankful!
Awesome pics, we saw the White Sands on our x-country trip too. Beautiful and vast. Great you cleaned up along the way too. True Gypsy Givers!! Xoxo
